The Van Nuys office was unapproachable.

I could not get into the office at 1pm when I arrived. There was a growing line outside but no explanation about what the delay was. The security guard(s) could only report that “she” had asked them to hold everyone outside. There was no further information or any indication of how long the wait would be. On the second or third discussion with the guards they explained there were already about 10 people waiting in the office. They seemed uninformed and completely unwilling to get any more information for the people who were waiting. There were 2 different security guards. They both rested one of their hands on their guns.

This is an inexcusable environment. I didn’t go to the IRS office to be treated like a crook, just someone who’s paid taxes for almost 45 years.
